Lou has served as Executive Director of the United Way of the Mark Twain Area since 1992. Her
thirty-year professional career has been varied (early childhood education and geriatric healthcare),
but always focused on human services. Fund raising for these valuable programs was a logical step
when she came to the United Way.
The last nine years have been an exciting time. A supportive board of directors, valuable agency
programs, willing volunteers and an outstanding donor public has enabled the United Way to grow and
expand services in Northeast Missouri.
A native of Hannibal, Lou now resides with husband Dave on their farm outside of Monroe City. She
enjoys her family, life on the farm, singing, working with friends at First Presbyterian, and
volunteering with various community projects in Northeast Missouri.
